Who are the Port Community Fund?

The Port Community Fund (PCF) is a unique coming together of local shipping and transport businesses to support charities and good causes in Felixstowe and The Trimleys, and areas of deprivation in Ipswich and Woodbridge.

The PCF was founded in 2008 to enable these businesses to create a joint approach to fund raising; the objective being to pool their funds and have a greater pot from which to support local causes and building closer relations within the local community.

What are the criteria for Port Community Fund?

The aim of the Port Community Fund is to support a wide range of grassroot Suffolk based charitable and community organisations supporting those that live and work in Felixstowe and The Trimleys.

Organisations do not need to be based in Felixstowe, but clear evidence needs to show that the beneficiaries are from Felixstowe and The Trimleys. National charities can apply as long as they can evidence how they are working in the defined area.

The Fund will offer standard grants up to £2,000.

The Fund will support local community issues and initiatives addressing priority needs. The main aim of the grant programme is to:

  • Support local solutions to meet local needs
  • Promote community cohesion
  • Develop sustainable and supportive communities
  • Tackle disadvantage
  • Promote health and wellbeing
