A word from our Chair…

After 17 years as the founding CEO of Suffolk Community Foundation, Stephen Singleton has notified the Foundation’s Board of his intention to retire.

Through his phenomenal leadership, immense commitment, and huge passion for making Suffolk a better place, Stephen has achieved great things in building the Community Foundation from scratch to being a vital and valued strategic partner to many organisations across our county.

He will leave the Community Foundation well-placed to fulfil an increasingly important role in supporting the most pressing needs of our county.

The trustees are therefore commencing the important task of finding Stephen’s successor with the objective of having his replacement in post during the latter part of the year. We are seeking an experienced, strategic and credible leader to join us and work collaboratively with our dedicated team and Board; someone who is values-driven, people focused and ambitious for growth and passionate about Suffolk. This is an exciting time to join the Foundation, and this is a role that will play a key part in the Foundation’s plans for the future. Our recruitment is now live, for further information click the button below.

As he prepares for his extremely well-earned retirement, I am pleased to say that Stephen has agreed to support the Foundation and its new CEO and Board in this transition, moving to a new project-focused role of Executive Vice Chair once his replacement is found. With major opportunities presenting themselves to the Foundation, Stephen’s knowledge, experience, and wisdom will be valued and harnessed to support these developments for the ongoing benefit of the county.
