Suffolk’s High Sheriff, Mark Pendlington DL, proudly announces the High Sheriff of Suffolk’s Legacy Auction in Association with Birketts LLP, an extraordinary fundraising auction online from 14th – 24th March 2024. Money raised hopes to make a significant impact on the lives of Suffolk residents by supporting many fantastic local projects.
All 21 lots, along with the website and online auction platform and any selling fees have been generously donated, ensuring 100% of funds raised go to directly benefit the High Sheriff’s Fund, managed by Suffolk Community Foundation.
Melanie Craig, Chief Executive of Suffolk Community Foundation explained, “With rapidly rising needs, the work of the High Sheriff is so important in highlighting the fantastic work of the voluntary sector, which so often provides the glue in our community, enabling them to develop and thrive. We are extremely grateful to Mark for all he has contributed both in terms of awareness raising, bringing people together and encouraging financial support. The High Sheriff of Suffolk is a key supporter and patron of the Suffolk Community Foundation. The High Sheriff’s Fund plays an integral part in both funding and championing the work of the local charitable sector. The money raised through this very special Legacy Auction will be instrumental in addressing many challenges facing people in Suffolk including bullying, homelessness, anti-social behaviour, knife crime, and substance abuse.
Jonathan Agar expressed his pride as Chief Executive of Birketts LLP being the main sponsor of The High Sheriff of Suffolk’s Legacy Auction, emphasising the firm’s longstanding support and strong relationship with the Suffolk Community Foundation. Mr Agar said, “This inaugural Legacy Auction will undoubtably make a huge difference to Suffolk’s charities, and as the main sponsor and through our prize donation of an Ipswich Town Football Club hospitality package, we are delighted to play our part in helping to raise much-needed funds for those who need it.”
The auction’s impressive array of generously donated lots includes a week’s self-catering accommodation for up to 16 guests at Inchnadamph House on George Vestey’s beautiful Scottish Estate, a London Theatre Break for two donated by official sponsor Chassis Cab, and tickets to His Majesty’s Royal Ascot Meeting, with other prizes from Greene King, The Jockey Club, Unruly Pig and many other local businesses.
