The London Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall
In 2018, Suffolk Community Foundation teamed up with The Church of England, The University of Suffolk and private donors to commission a piece of research into the way that drugs and knife crime in particular were affecting the young people of Suffolk.
A £50,000 match fund was offered by Suffolk Police & Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore, to start a fund to address the dangers of drugs and knife crime – in particular affecting young people in Suffolk. This match fund was taken to the London Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall on 20th March 2019, where a further £100,000 was raised from those gathered. This formed the founding donation to a new fund at Suffolk Community Foundation called the Youth Intervention Fund.
