Deadlines Deadline for Expressions of Interest: 5 August 2026
Organisations with shortlisted Expressions of Interest will be invited to submit a full application by 30 September 2026.
Final funding decisions are expected to be made by the end of November 2026.

Brief Description

This fund has been established in memory of Edward and Ivy Rose Hood. For the current year, approximately £120,000 is expected to be available, to be shared across the priorities outlined below.

The fund aims to support charitable and community activity that:

  • Improves the lives and life chances of local people through services and support in Lowestoft and Waveney only; and
  • Supports community organisations and small-scale environmental initiatives across Suffolk, helping to protect the environment, strengthen community resilience, and promote health and wellbeing through nature-based project

Criteria

The objectives of the fund:

To support charitable and community activities as follows:

  • Services aimed at supporting and improving local peoples’ lives and life chances Lowestoft & Waveney
  • Supporting community organisations and small scale green initiatives that benefit the environment, build community resilience and promote the health and wellbeing of communities through nature-based projects Lowestoft & Waveney (first year only, after that anywhere in Suffolk)

Who can apply?

  • Charitable and Voluntary groups
  • Faith and Community groups
  • Social enterprises that are addressing need within Suffolk

What can be funded:

  • New innovative projects
  • Existing projects
  • Core costs, project costs and reasonable capital costs (if an essential element of a project)
  • Core costs and organisational overheads
  • Full cost recovery

Timetable:

  • 22  July – 2 September submission of expressions of interest
  • 28 October – deadline for full applications from shortlisted organisations
  • End November – panel meeting
