Brief Description
Grants to support charitable, voluntary and community groups that are aiming to increase participation in sport in Suffolk.
Criteria
Suffolk Community Foundation is working in partnership with Suffolk County Council, Borough and District Councils in Suffolk and a number of businesses to deliver a community sports fund that aims to increase access to sport, particularly for those who are excluded through disadvantage.
There is overwhelming evidence of the positive effects of sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. This grants programme seeks to help improve the lives of those living in Suffolk by enabling better access to sport at grassroots level.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available for registered charities and community groups that are looking to provide opportunities that will increase participation in a sports activity for those who struggle to access mainstream sports activities due to disability, isolation, disadvantage etc.
Applications must be for projects that will benefit people living or working in Suffolk. As this fund seeks to increase grassroots sports activity, the fund is not open to national organisations.
Core running costs will not be met out of this fund unless a clear increase in participation can be identified.
Please read our grantmaking guidelines here to check your eligibility prior to applying to this fund.
If this grants programme is oversubscribed, we may close the fund early.
