The High Sheriff of Suffolk, Edward Creasy, has launched the 2022 High Sheriff’s Awards and is calling for voluntary groups and individuals to submit their nominations for the annual community awards.
The High Sheriff’s Awards are designed to reward the volunteers, charities and community groups in Suffolk who devote their time and energy to improve the communities in which they live and work, to make Suffolk a better and safer place to live.
The deadline for receipt of nominations is Monday 17th January 2022 at 5pm.
I’m very excited that we can plan to hold the High Sheriff’s Awards Ceremony in person this year, and I’m looking forward to what should be a fantastic celebratory event after two years of meeting remotely. This year I have had the privilege to meet so many wonderful charities and volunteers. I would encourage as many charities as possible to apply for the awards; it is a chance to recognise all the amazing work that’s been done across the county in a really difficult environment.
The awards will be presented at an evening awards ceremony at East of England Co-op, Wherstead Park, Ipswich on Wednesday 16th March 2022.
Winners will receive a trophy, certificate and a cash contribution to their voluntary group.
BBC Suffolk’s Lesley Dolphin and Suffolk Community Foundation’s Tim Holder will once again host the awards ceremony
Charities, community groups and local neighbourhood initiatives have given so much to support those in need during this very challenging time. The awards provide not only an opportunity to celebrate how amazing and vital their contribution has been, but also to showcase their work for the future. They need the support of everyone in Suffolk now more than ever as we face the challenge together in Suffolk to people’s lives back on track.
